Summertime is upon us! This means lots of fun outdoor play with our pooches: hiking, swimming, wading, rolling in the grass, playing fetch, etc. Once playtime is over, we love to treat our pups to something tasty and refreshing to help cool them down. Here are some frosty ideas of yummy goodies you can get here in Durham!
Ice Cream at Oliver’s Collar Dog Treat Bakery and Boutique. This locally-owned store has an on-site bakery to create delicious dog treats, pupcakes, barkday cakes and frozen dog treat desserts. Take your pups inside to let them pick out their favorite!
Starbucks Puppuccino. This isn’t listed on the store menu (shhh! it’s on the secret menu!). A whipped cream concoction especially for your pup to enjoy while you sip on your own Starbucks beverage. Best part? They’re FREE!
Frosty Paws. These are ready-made goodies available in local Harris Teeter, Kroger and Walmart stores. Choose from Original or Peanut Butter flavors. Buy a box to have plenty on hand for the entire summer!
Dogsters. Ice cream style frozen dog treats available at Harris Teeter. Available in Peanut Butter and Cheese or Minte Fresh flavors. Come 4 to a box, so easy to have plenty to go around!
Muddy&Inca Frozen Ice Bones. These kits provide you everything to make your own frozen dog treats. A bone shaped pan and mix comes in the kit. Additional mixes are sold separately. Simply add warm water to the mix and stir. Pour in the pan and freeze for 3 hours. You can either give to your pup all at once or break up into smaller portions and freeze the leftovers for another day.
