Are you an animal lover with a busy lifestyle?  You’d love to have a pet, but, are fearful you don’t have the time available to devote to a beloved pet?  Although, all creatures deserve to have love, attention and care, some animals don’t require as much as others.  Here’s a list of a few:

  1. Budgie Bird

Budgie birds are one of the most popular pets after cats and dogs. They are an extremely low maintenance avian pets and are inexpensive. They are very loveable and can mimic human speech when trained properly. Budgie birds are small so they can be kept in a small birdcage. If you have only one bird, you will their only interaction, and you will have to spend time with them. A second budgie bird can solve this if it’s an issue and budgies do well together.

Mice are intelligent and very social critters. They are extremely easy to care for as they only need a cage, some toys, food and water to be happy. Playing outside their cage every once in a while is not only good for them but can be fun for children. Even though you can buy mice food from the pet store, they can eat all the same foods that we eat.

  1. Guppies

Guppies and their beautiful vibrant colors and long tails make them a good choice for children. These fish can tolerate lots of different water types and are fine with either a fishbowl or a small tank. They eat regular fish food and frozen blood worms.

  1. Goldfish

Goldfish are the most popular type of fish among aquarium owners. These fish are inexpensive and are readily available in pet stores. These pets are ideal for children to take care of.

  1. Cats

Cats are independent and can look after themselves when you are not around. They do not take up too much space and are excellent for apartment living. They don’t need a lot of exercise and keep themselves clean so you don’t have to spend much time bathing them.
