We’re looking for individuals to work as employees, taking care of our clients’ pets in the client’s home. We’re seeking team members to help us provide the high level of customer care our clients have come to expect from us.
Daily Dog Walker: Walks are usually for 30-minutes between 11am-3pm, M-F. You must have daily availability M-F, to qualify for this position.
Vacation Pet Sitter: Visits are usually from 2-14 days. Dog visits are usually 30-minutes 2-3 times daily. Cat and small mammal visits are usually 30-minutes once or twice daily.
You’ll be in charge of your own schedule – accepting only the jobs for which you have interest and availability.
You LOVE animals and put their needs first.
You have an outstanding work ethic.
You are very detail oriented and can work independently.
You are Resourceful with a “Can Do!” attitude.
Most jobs will be within 5 miles of your home and never more than 10 miles. Thus, you MUST live within the 27701, 27705, 27707, 27709, 27713, 27516 or 27517 zip codes.
You own a reliable, insured car and can drive in all types of weather.
You can commit to working with us for at least one year. This is NOT seasonal work.
You are physically able to walk dogs of ALL sizes, in ALL types of weather.
You have experience in pet care.
You have a smart phone and printer.
You are at least 21 years old.
You can pass a criminal / background check.
Dog Walkers: You are available M-F 11am-3pm.
Vacation Pet Sitters: You are available for AM and PM visits. You are available most weekends.
All Sitters: Must be available to work most holidays. Don’t worry – you’ll be paid extra for working on holidays.
Hours/Pay: You are paid per visit completed. Starting base pay $9.00 per 30-minute visit. Details to be discussed at interview. We are a certified employer of the Durham Living Wage Project.
You will be an Employee of the company, not an Independent Contractor. Thus, in addition to a very competitive rate of pay, you’ll receive the benefits of the company will pay for your liability insurance and bonding. You’ll also be covered under the company’s Workers Compensation policy. You’ll be provided with company-paid, ongoing training. As your experience grows with the company, pay increases will follow. We reward our terrific employees.
NOTE: There is no guaranteed minimum amount of work. Jobs are dependent upon client need. Schedules vary by the week. DO NOT APPLY for this job if you are relying on this income to pay your bills. CUSTOMER CARE MANAGER

- Return customer/staff calls and deal with customer/staff concerns or questions in a prompt and helpful manner.
- Be effective at working simultaneously with multiple virtual staff members and clients via phone to set up customer/staff pet care reservations.
- Learn a software and billing system.
- When given projects, responsibilities or assignments, you will be expected to take action with intelligence and thoroughness.

Here are the details:
Initially, this will be a part-time weekend position, approximately 3-4 working hours per weekend. The hours will start at 8:30am on Saturday and end at 9pm on Sunday. You will check messages and return emails and phone calls every 2-5 hours.
After completing training, you will work:
M-F 9am-9pm and one weekend a month. On weekdays, you will check messages and return emails and phone calls every 2-3 hours – total working hours of approximately 2 hours per day. On weekends, you will work as described, above. Average of approximately 10-15 working hours per week. Base pay rate will be $30 per day during training (4-8 weeks) and $40 per day, thereafter. Details to be discussed at interview.
You will work from YOUR home office, with your own high-speed Internet connection, using company e-mail and phone. Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as solid computer skills (Word, online web applications, etc.). You must have a very quiet home environment from which to work.
This is an exciting and flexible permanent P/T job that will grow with the right person. We’d like to hire someone who has enough flexibility in his/her current work schedule to also work some holidays.
